About the Rideau Valley Wildlife SanctuarySince the spring of 2005, the Rideau Valley Wildlife Sanctuary has been rescuing small wild mammals and helping Ottawa area residents to coexist peacefully with our wildlife neighbours. We are a not-for-profit corporation based in North Gower, Ontario. As a registered charity (# 82731 7744 RR0001), the Rideau Valley Wildlife Sanctuary relies entirely on donations. The Sanctuary is the only volunteer-based Authorized Wildlife Custodian for small mammals serving the Ottawa and Rideau Valley areas. Our mission is to rehabilitate injured, sick or orphaned wildlife and return them to the wild. Through public education, our telephone hotline and our website, we also strive to increase community understanding of wildlife and their environment and to help prevent and solve human/wildlife conflict. The Rideau Valley Wildlife Sanctuary has cared for more than 700 animals since 2005, but the demand for our services now far exceeds our ability to help. In order to triple our capacity, we are currently undertaking a major building campaign to expand our facilities. We would be grateful if you could take a moment to find out how you can help us to help the animals. We are so grateful to all
our sponsors, benefactors and volunteers Home
