The Rideau Valley Wildlife Sanctuary would not be able to help so many wildlife without the help of our dedicated volunteers. We are always looking for enthusiastic, reliable volunteers to join our team.
Volunteers will join a dynamic and diverse team of people from the community with a passion for wildlife and the environment. Our volunteers work in a supportive environment, learn all about wildlife, make contacts, gain valuable experience and contribute to the success of the organization. Dedicated volunteers who successfully meet their commitments are welcome to request a reference letter.
Opportunities are available to work directly with wildlife, help in other areas that provide vital support to the animals, help to build community support and public awareness of our work, and raise the resources needed to expand our services to the community.
If you are interested in volunteering, please review the available opportunities below and complete an online application. Each position has unique requirements, responsibilities and time commitments to suit your needs. Some positions are suitable for co-op students, high school students and others completing community service hours.
If you have other skills you would like to contribute that are not listed below, we would love to hear from you.
Please note that there is no public transit to the wildlife centre.
