Job Description
Coordinate marketing communications
- produce copy content
- coordinate and produce photos, videos, graphics, press releases and related assets
- develop, deliver and analyze all social media content
- develop and implement multi-media content calendar for social media and publicity
- develop event and outreach multi-media assets
- contribute content to the development and production of newsletters, direct mail, e-news, press releases and related communications
- research and propose ways to increase engagement for all communications
- assist with website redesign and content
- assist with media inquiries
Other duties
- collaborate with the Development and Communications Coordinator
- maintain records
- prepare verbal and written reports to management
Other related duties as required
Eligibility
These jobs are made possible under the Canada Summer Jobs program. To be eligible under the program, youth must:
- be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of the employment;
- be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment*; and,
- have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations.
International students are not eligible participants.
Qualifications
- well-equipped home office, including computer and internet access
- proof of Covid-19 vaccinations
- reliable transportation to our facility in North Gower (there is no public transit available)
- enrollment in a post-secondary institution in marketing, communications, fundraising, advertising, graphic design, public relations, business or related programs; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- previous marketing, social media, or communications experience
- previous photography, graphics or video production experience
- excellent verbal and written English communications skills
- strong creative skills, and ability to take and edit professional-looking photos and videos
- strong planning, organizing and problem-solving skills
- ability to meet tight and evolving deadlines, through the use of strong organizational and time management skills
- strong interpersonal and teamwork skills
- strong computer skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative software
- previous fundraising and WordPress experience an asset
Term and Compensation
This is a 35 hr/wk summer position for 8 to 16 weeks, starting as early as April 22, with the possibility of part-time hours from September to April. Wages are $19.00/hr. This position will involve working from home with bi-weekly onsite visits to take photos and videos, and conduct interviews.
