Drop in on Saturday, June 14, anytime between noon and 4 pm, for the Rideau Valley Wildlife Sanctuary’s annual Open House. There will be indoor sanctuary tours (with one-way viewing windows) where you can see wildlife being fed, a silent auction, barbecue (with meat and vegan options) and drinks, kids’ activities, live bands and more.
Back by popular demand, Grateful We’re Not Dead will perform country tunes with a social conscience. They will share the stage this year with performers Brea Lawrenson and Nayana Bhatnagar.
Do your Father’s Day shopping at the silent auction, which runs from noon – 3 p.m. If you’d like to donate a new item valued over $45 to the silent auction, please contact us here before June 1. Silent auction items can be donated by you, your employer, your colleagues or your friends. Consider asking your massage therapist, hair stylist and any restaurants you frequent. Be creative! Items that have sold well in the past include golf packages, electronics, gift certificates for restaurant or spa services, and concert tickets.
Donations and items from our wishlist are greatly appreciated. Please do not donate items that are not specifically on the wishlist (e.g. pillows, comforters, small and medium sized animal carriers) as we then have to pay for their removal.
While we love all animals, please leave your pets at home.

The sanctuary is in North Gower, 45 minutes from downtown Ottawa. Directions to the sanctuary will be emailed to registrants a few days before the event. More information and registration here.
We are looking forward to seeing you on June 14!
